We Have Not Spent Nearly Enough Time Talking About USC Welcoming A Legend Back After 10 Years
Did someone else get reinstated at USC? I'm just looking at a 20 point scorer. A guy who was the highest draft pick ever out of USC. A guy who had one of the better mixtapes coming out of high school too. Shit, he was a real problem at USC even if they lost to Kansas State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Look at this statline:
Not bad for a freshman. Not bad at all. Now obviously that doesn't count according to the NCAA because Mayo received a bunch of improper benefits making him ineligible. It's the same shit we see still going on and have seen go on in college sports forever. He received improper benefits from someone working with an agency. It literally had no impact on the game, because Mayo still had to go play. Who cares?
I don't know if there's a better 1-2 cross sport combo to get suspended and reinstated at the same time together than him and Reggie Bush.
So welcome back OJ Mayo, a truly forgotten awesome player because of his off the court shit. Kinda hilarious they just casually mention that OJ Mayo, a top-3 pick in the NBA Draft, a 20-point scorer and all-conference player is back too.
